Summer Family Bucket List

Summer is sometimes called the “off season” here in the Palm Beaches – but kiddos are year round! Here is a bucket list to make the most of these warm sunny days. If we missed anything fabulous, let us know!

Time Travel Escapes in Jupiter is absolutely ideal for beating the heat or a rainy day. They offer classic escape rooms and virtual reality ones. Great for all ages and 2-8 players. If you are a first timer, give them a call and they will advise you on the best room to book.


The Flagler Museum is a favorite always, but on a rainy day, it is a haven. They offer excellent family programing and you will be surprised how much even the littlest ones will enjoy the museum.


PopStroke! has quickly become a family favorite. Their Summer Pass which offers unlimited mini golf, Memorial Day thru Labor Day, $50/person, valid at all 21 locations (no blackouts, no time limits) is a great value.

And we all look forward to Wed — Kids Day: $2 kids meals, free ice cream scoop w/ kids golf, face painters & balloon artists. The playground has shade and the course has misters, so even on a warm day, you keep your cool.


If you haven’t visited Sandoway yet, make sure you don’t miss it any longer. The nature center’s activities include daily shark and stingray feedings, aquarium feedings, animal encounters, field trip and outreach programs, beach clean-ups, butterfly garden, live animal exhibits, and more.


Jupiter Outdoor Center makes it easy to do all of the things that seem hard to make happen. Adventure awaits with kayak, canoe and bike rentals, guided tours, These are memories you will cherish forever.


Enjoy free kids entry to the Palm Beach Zoo – The zoo’s “Kids Free Summer” promotion runs June 7 -Aug 10th, offering free admission for up to four children ages 3 to 12 with each full-price adult ticket purchased. Children 2 and younger are always free at the zoo.


Lighthouse Candle bar is so special for so many reasons, you just need to go. Make a candle after you choose from over 100 organic, skin safe fragrances.


If you have children who are interested in fishing, check out the Blue Heron. They do a great job on the group trips or private charters.


Enjoy a pool day at the Hilton West Palm. They offer day passes and cabana rentals.


Order the free LEGO magazine for kids ages.


Loggerhead Marine Life center has fantastic programming all summer long. Plus summer is THE time for guided turtle nesting walks and hatching releases.


Visit a splash park – the North Palm Beach Country Club has a small one and the Palm Beach Gardens Aquatic Center offers a large one.

Consider these activity boxes to have on hand for at home activity.

Shark Wake Park outdoor water adventure park is a must visit for ages 6 and up.

Enjoy a good old fashioned Beach Day. Pack a picnic, some towels and head for the shore.

Visit the Children’s Library at the Society of the Four Arts put together a Lego Set while you are there – as the librarians to see a catalog of what they offer. Then take a stroll in the gardens.

Get creative at Avenue Pottery.

Learn something new or get ahead on grandparent holiday gifts at Craft Haus.

Relive the golden age of arcade games at Silverball Retro Arcade in Delray Beach, Florida. With over 150 vintage and modern pinball, video, and arcade games, you’ll find yourself lost in a world of nostalgia. Challenge your friends or date to a high-score battle on iconic titles like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Skee Ball. Or, immerse yourself in the mesmerizing world of pinball with a vast collection of classic machines.

Bake or make cards then take a treat to a local fire station or to a nursing home.

Climb the Jupiter Lighthouse.

Wash cars – yours or the kids play ones.

Learn a little something at the Cox Science Museum and Aquarium.

Give the driving simulator at Mandel library in downtown West Palm a try.

Have a library day. Everyone gets 10 books and you lay around all day reading them. Ahhhh yes.

Fly a kite.

Catch a movie. Glazer Hall is showing some flicks this summer. Regal, Cinemark and AMC are all offering summer movie deals.

Mounts Botanical Gardens is the perfect place to let the kids run, feed the fish, and enjoy a picnic.

The Morikami Museum is fun for lunch and a stroll.

Splash in puddles. Look for earthworms or tadpoles.

Do a puzzle.

Play a board game (our faves here)

Make a fort of pillows and blankets.

Paint rocks with kind messages or jokes and hide them at your favorite park or outdoor area.

Visit your local animal shelter. Peggy Adams, Big Dog Ranch, Furry Friends and so many more love visitors (and fosters!)

Take a roadtrip.

Watch a sunrise.

Do a painting without paintbrushes – use nature – leaves, feathers, branches…

Teach kids your name, phone numbner and address (if age appropiate)

Teach kids how to do laundry or iron (if age appropriate)

Local summer camps are a great way to let your little ones make friends and try new activities while you have some time to yourself.
