If you want a getaway and need a quick easy option, The Ben in downtown West Palm Beach is just the spot.
The location is incredible, skipping distance to downtown West Palm Beach where dining shopping, art and entertainment await. Bike rentals are available and the perfect way to cruise the town. With everything so close it would be a shame not to leave, but you sure don’t need to.
The gym is efficient and offers all the latest equipment. The heated rooftop pool is the perfect place to relax, toast the view, and savor some tasty treats. Reserve a cabana and enjoy your privacy with a TV, perfect for sporting events.
The hotel offers several fabulous dining options. Spruzzo (Italian for Splash) is an Italian lounge on the rooftop with spectacular views. Proper Grit is on the first floor and has a fabulous al fresco terrace becoming you for brunch. And of course, room service is always an option.
The rooms have the most comfortable beds and pillows. I actually had to peel back the sheets to take peek at the mattress brand. When was the last time you did that in a hotel?
Each room has a book by Byrd Spillman Dewey that you must flip through. It tells how The Ben got it’s name.
“The Ben channels the spirit of one of West Palm Beach’s original homes and interprets it for a modern traveler. Byrd Spillman Dewey gave her 1892 Victorian home the name Ben Trovato, literally meaning “well invented” or “well found”; the name is derived from Se non è vero, è ben trovato, an Italian phrase which, loosely translated, means “Even if it isn’t true, it’s a good story”. The Estate put West Palm Beach on the cultural map, entertaining luminaries like Henry Phipps Jr., Woodrow Wilson, and the Vanderbilts. Much like the Ben Trovoato Estate, The Ben is an unconventional hotel experience and a place for socialization, lively conversation, enjoyment, and enrichment.”
