Town you live in now: Jupiter
Why you love living there: The beach is so close. Still feels small(er) town which I love.
Tell me about your kids: One amazing daughter, Kaden. She is 4 and makes my heart smile daily.
Favorite things to do with the kids locally: Anything outdoors, beaches, parks, paddle boarding, pools/splash pads are always a hit
What’s your ‘day job’? How did you get started with it? This may be difficult to answer but I’ll try my best. I apologize in advance to whomever has to translate this into a nice post but Moreso my “night” job lol. I work as a private duty nurse in one’s home overnight from 7P-7A. I have been a nurse for almost 15 years in many capacities. I never wanted to be anything else. Caring for others is truly my calling.
I am also a doula and own Birthing Babies and Beyond providing birth, postpartum and breastfeeding support. That is my anytime or round the clock job as babies come anytime of the day I became a doula after the birth of my daughter where I just couldn’t find what I needed in terms of education and support easily. I did not want that experience for another mama to be. So I became the change that I wanted. Empowering moms in pregnancy and postpartum is life changing! We see a great decline in birth trauma and postpartum depression amongst other things. My goal is for every mama to have the birth she desires and most importantly the birth that she deserves.
What is your best parenting advice. Lay it on us.
To give yourself GRACE! If you act out of love and always do your best even if all you have in the moment is 1% then that is enough. Also, don’t rush the moments or the stages. They go by so quickly. And regardless of the advice, especially the unsolicited kind, always do what works best for you and your family.
What do you do for self care? Read books. Have some alone time. Travel.
Karaoke – what are you singing? Haha probably a hit from the 80-90s
Anything else you want to share? I am honored to have been nominated in this space. Shout out to all the moms, showing up, doing our best, trying to drink enough water, taking care of our circle and most importantly honoring ourselves for all that we do!
