Holiday Gift Guide 2018

We love giving gifts, it means you have someone to give them to which is really a great joy in itself.  Multiply that when you know the recipient will really enjoy what you have in store for them.  Our priorities besides trying for something they will appreciate are always experiential, eco friendly, and local supporting!

We have something for everyone(mom, dad, teachers, helpers, neighbors, young and older children) in all kinds of budgets in this first annual gift guide.  Below you will find items divided into kids, Dad, Mom, and Special Friends (like those amazing hard working teachers, caregivers, neighbors and so on).

The kiddos of course

Shoppe 561 in West Palm Beach offers items made in the USA or by marginalized women around the world.   A wide variety of products from Eeboo, a woman owned and run company are perfect for the younger set.  All high quality educational games that are just plain fun and many are Oppenhiem award winners.  

Prim and Pure products that local mom of 3 Kelli Jackson created are fun and safe beauty products for all ages.  We think they make the perfect stocking stuffer for fans of dress up.

Dad

Shoppe 561 has a wide variety of men’s products to include wood inlay journals, money clips, bottle openers as well as whiskey sticks that age your whiskey 5-10 years in 24 hours (that our Dads tested and they say it works!) and cool utility tools that fit in a man’s wallet.

Dads like spa treatments too!  A night at the Palm Beach improv.  Or fishing trips on the Blue Heron fishing fleet.  A card promising a date day moving feast style – start at Coyo Taco for a margarita and taco, then to Honor Bar to share some duo dip, then off you go to Master Somellier Virginia Philip Wine shop for a sip of something…  over to Cucina…  you get the idea.  Always a blast, never gets returned.

In our family we also give Dad 3 backpacks filled with items that are helpful for homeless people.  He usually gives them out driving home from Christmas Eve with the family.  The kids love helping fill them and when possible seeing him give them out.  (We will talk more about this on out December Checklist post, coming soon)

Mom

We know something mom wont return – a 6 month membership to Coopers Hawk Winery and Restaurant in The Palm Beach Gardens Mall.  You can sit indoors or out at this lovely restaurant, or do some wine tasting at the bar.  With a 6 month membership she gets a bottle a month for the 6 months.  Tell her to go enjoy with girlfriends, date night, or she can parouse the mall then swing by and claim her bottle.  The gift that keeps on giving!

Shoppe 561 does it again with their Shine Hope Collection benefitting Place of Hope (a great local cause if you aren’t already familiar) that is brand new this month.  Lots of fun choices for Mom.  

Sakara Life makes healthy eating delicious and easy.  The detox bars taste like dessert and having the premade meals delivered… heaven.

The beautiful candle, diffuser, Pucci and stunning earrings above are all from Serenella in The Royal Poinciana Plaza.  They are the perfect people to help you choose a gift for the Mom who has everything.  My mother in law will be getting the candle this year.

A night on the town!   Dinner at The Regional and a show at The Kravis Theater – yes please!  If you want extra points, arrange for the sitter or send her to get her hair done.  A ride on the Palm Beach bike trail and lunch at Coyo Taco would be another fun way to spend the day.  Great for you last minute gifters.  Just jot it down in a card with some word from the heart and you are set.  (You can rent bikes and get the tasties tacos at The Royal, park your car there and head right to the bike trail.)   I can guarantee you that Moms love spa days.

Personally, this hat from local artisan Mariella Vilar is at the top of my list until its on top of my head.  So cute right?  Hurry up and order so you can have it in time.  If you don’t order in time, Rapunzels keeps some of her items in stock along with lots of other things Mom would enjoy.

Special friends (caretakers, teachers, host/hostess gifts, etc)
