SUMMARY:Egg Hunt at The Flagler Museum
DESCRIPTION:The Flagler Museum will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday\, April 19\, 2025. Gates will open at 9:00 am and the Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 10:00 am. The event always sells out in advance with about 1\,000 visitors attending each year. Be sure to buy your Easter Egg Hunt tickets early by visiting the Museum’s website at www.FlaglerMuseum.us. \nThe Flagler Museum’s Easter Egg Hunt began in 2006 and was introduced to continue the Gilded Age tradition of the event that began on the South Lawn of the White House when President Rutherford B. Hayes welcomed children to the first White House Easter Egg Roll in 1878. As at the White House\, families will receive a souvenir wooden Easter Egg to commemorate the event. \nChildren of all ages are invited to hunt for more than 7\,000 eggs on the Museum’s lawn and in the beautiful Cocoanut Grove. Museum gates open at 9:00 a.m.\, when children can enjoy a visit by the Easter Bunny\, engage in Easter-themed craft projects\, have their face painted\, receive a balloon sculpture\, and play the Bean Bag Toss game before the egg hunts begin. The traditional Easter Egg Hunts will feature treat-filled eggs “hidden” on the Museum’s lawn and in the Cocoanut Grove\, and areas will be sectioned-off by age group so that all children\, including toddlers\, have the opportunity to participate safely. The Easter Egg Hunt for children up to age 4 will start at 10 am on the front lawn. A separate Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 5 and older will start in the Cocoanut Grove at approximately 10:20 am. Bring your cameras to capture memories!

Families can bring snacks from home\, blankets and other small items to make themselves comfortable. \nThroughout the Museum\, children can participate in a variety of sensory-based activities. Join the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS)\, the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) and Florida International University’s (FIU) International Hurricane Research Center (IHRC) on Saturday\, May 31\, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. for “Eye of the Storm” – a FREE\, action-packed day of family-friendly education\, museum exploration and hurricane preparedness. \nFuture Storm Chasers can participate in family-friendly activities including: \n• Presentations and Demonstrations by Hurricane Experts\n• International Hurricane Protection Association (IHPA) Air Cannon Missile Demonstrations\n• FIU Wind Engineering\n• National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Hurricane Hunters\n• Live Weather Theater Shows\n• Local TV Meteorologists\n• A Kids Zone\no Weather Safety\no Weather Arts & Crafts\no Storytime\no Mascot Meet-and-Greets\n• MODS Weather Science Demos and All-Day Museum Exploration\n• Emergency Vehicle “Touch a Truck” and Meet & Greet with South Florida First Responders \nFamilies can explore sustainability and climate adaptation in Florida’s Climate Future City\, sponsored by the Environmental Defense Fund. Guests can design and test resilient cities built to withstand extreme weather.
