DESCRIPTION:May 11th – Eerie Erosion & Living Shorelines \nJoin our Scientist Sam for different science activities!\nAges 13-17 \nThis lesson will focus on the eerie effects of erosion to our shores and coastlines and discuss ways to mitigate erosion damage. The class will be looking as sites where erosion is a big issue and areas where living shorelines were installed to reduce erosion damage. Students will take part in erosion demos\, pot mangroves\, and take home an erosion experiment. This is an off-site program. We’ll search for urchins\, conchs\, and crabs while enjoying the natural beauty around us. \nAdults and children should come prepared to be in the water for an hour. This includes closed toe water shoes\, sunscreen\, hats\, and water bottles. Adults will be responsible for their children during this program. \nLimited to 15 children (+ their accompanying adults).
