It’s a month of slime-filled fun\, wild animal encounters and messy discoveries for all ages! \nBeginning September 12\, explore the PAW PatrolTM: Adventure Play traveling exhibit presented by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and sponsored by Florida Prepaid College Savings Plan and Chewy Vet Care. Based on the preschool series PAW Patrol®\, produced by Spin Master Entertainment and airing on Nickelodeon\, this interactive exhibit gives kids and their grown-ups an opportunity to run rescue missions and work together to overcome challenges in a fun and immersive environment. DESCRIPTION:We are proud to host Sensory Saturdays on the 1st Saturday of each month. The Cox Science Center and Aquarium is open for special exploration hours from 9am-10am\, specifically designed for families affected by autism spectrum disorder\, sensory processing or cognitive challenges\, or other guests requiring assistance for disabilities. \nExperience our exhibits without heavy crowds before we open to the public at 10am with softened general lighting\, decreased noise level and limited visual stimulation on interactive exhibits wherever possible. Our facility is also ADA accessible and wheelchair friendly! \n50% off regular Science Center admission paid at the door. For prices\, please click here. \nPre-registration is no longer required to reserve your spot in this special program. Those looking to enter using the Bank of America Museums on Us promotion will be admitted starting at 10 am. \nThe Science Center opens at 10am after this special program for the general public\, members\, and Museums on Us attendees.

DESCRIPTION:History Fort Lauderdale\, proud steward of our community’s past by making our heritage accessible and engaging to residents and visitors\, will present its fourth annual “Viva Fort Lauderdale: Celebrating Hispanic Art & Culture” exhibit showcasing creativity from our Latin community. The fine art exhibit\, running from September 10 through October 19 during Hispanic Heritage Month\, will feature work from local award-winning artists-in-residence including Oscar Montoya (Colombia) Isabel Perez Salazar (Venezuela)\, Florencia Clement de Grandprey (Spain)\, and Lifrancis Rojas (Venezuela). \nHistory Fort Lauderdale hosts a variety of engaging multicultural experiences\, year-round. It seeks to bring awareness to the community through both traveling exhibits and multiple permanent exhibits including “Women Trailblazers\,” “Fort Lauderdale – the Early Years\,” “Roots of Resilience: The Journey of Black Broward\,” “Fashion & Musical Theatre\,” “From Dugouts to Dream Yachts: the story of boatbuilding along the New River\,” Seminole Arts & Culture\,” “New River Archaeology\,” “Viva Fort Lauderdale: Celebrating Hispanic Art & Culture\,” and “Take PRIDE\, a retrospective on LGBTQ life in South Florida.” \nHistory Fort Lauderdale’s “Viva Fort Lauderdale” is sponsored by the following funds at the Community Foundation of Broward: Jan and Ed Crocker Unrestricted Fund\, Leo M. and Alice J. Rutten Fund and The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation Broward Community Fund. Additional funding is provided\, in part\, by Broward County Board of County Commissioners as recommended by the Broward County Cultural Council and Visit Lauderdale. \nHistory Fort Lauderdale is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with docent guided tours\, daily\, at 1\, 2 and 3 p.m. Group walking tours are available upon special request. Admission is $15 for adults; $12 for seniors and $7 for students (through age 22 with a valid student ID). Admission is free for members\, military and children ages six and under.
