SUMMARY:Guided Turtle Walk
DESCRIPTION:Turtle Walks are a unique program that allows our visitors to learn about and observe the nesting and egg-laying process of loggerhead sea turtles. \nDuration\n\nApproximately 3 Hours\nThere’s no way to know the exact duration of the program from night to night\, although the program is officially scheduled from 9pm – 12am. The length of the program depends on when we spot a loggerhead sea turtle and her behavior. If we do spot one\, it could be at any point in the evening. If no turtle has been spotted by midnight\, the program concludes.\n\nAbout\nWith the approval of state issued permits\, experienced Loggerhead Marinelife Center scouts will patrol our designated section of Juno Beach searching for sea turtles while visitors enjoy an informative presentation on the plight of sea turtles and engage in a variety of hands-on learning experiences. Once a loggerhead sea turtle emerges and begins her egg-laying process\, the group is then led down to the beach to witness this unforgettable experience. \nWhat happens if I don’t see a sea turtle?\nWe cannot guarantee that a loggerhead sea turtle will carry out her nesting process on the evening of your scheduled program. Though we cannot offer refunds\, all ticket sales directly benefit Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s mission and the care of our sea turtle patients. \nWhat are my chances to see a turtle?\nThere is absolutely NO way to predict the successful nesting of a sea turtle on the night of your scheduled walk. Sea turtles never RSVP\, and we have no way of knowing what the likelihood of seeing a sea turtle will be from night to night. Juno Beach\, however\, is one of the densest nesting sites for loggerhead sea turtles in the world. \nHow does the program work?\nNesting is highest for loggerhead sea turtles in June and July. During these months\, we offer turtle walks to the public Tuesday-Saturday under a required permit issued by the state of Florida. Once registered for an evening\, visitors come to the center and receive a presentation\, at which time our scouts are on the beach in search of activity. If the scouts spot a loggerhead sea turtle carrying out her nesting process\, they will radio to bring the group down to watch. \nHow long is the program?\nThere’s no way to know the exact duration of the program from night to night\, although the program is officially scheduled from 9pm – 12am. The length of the program depends entirely on when and if we spot a sea turtle. If we do spot one\, it could be at any point in the evening. If no turtle has been spotted by midnight\, the program concludes. \nCan I bring a flashlight?\nSorry\, flashlights are not permitted. \nCan I take pictures?\nWe do not permit photography of any form throughout the program. \nMore Info\n\nChildren must be 10 years or older to attend the walks\, and all participants must be able to walk up to half a mile on the beach.\nDue to our State issued permit requirements\, we can only accommodate a small number of people per night and dates fill up quickly. There is no relationship between sea turtle nesting activity and the phase of the moon\, the weather\, or the tides. All scheduled Turtle Walk nights have the same odds of the group seeing a sea turtle nesting. There are no refunds on tickets if a sea turtle is not spotted.\n\nWhat to Wear\n\nDark clothing is preferred to minimize the impact on nesting sea turtles. Bug spray and comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.\nWhat if it’s raining? We run our program rain or shine and only stay off the beach in the event of lightning. During this waiting period\, guests will be onsite enjoying our presentation. We do not cancel the program due to inclement weather. If the forecast calls for rain\, we recommend guests wear raincoats or ponchos. No umbrellas please.

SUMMARY:Ndlovu Youth Choir
DESCRIPTION:NDLOVU YOUTH CHOIR \nSince its inception in 2009\, the Ndlovu Youth Choir has become one of the world’s most treasured groups. Their unique musical arrangements\, powerhouse vocals\, irresistibly combined with mesmerizing choreography and infectious energy have inspired millions across the globe. \nAn eleven-year journey has seen an after-school programme for orphaned and vulnerable children\, started by the Ndlovu Care Group\, transform into an international recording and touring career. Participation does not only instill values of togetherness\, a work ethic and a sense of responsibility\, but it develops self-discipline\, self-confidence\, and leadership. Through the choir\, choristers gain a global perspective that offers an early pathway to artistic and professional achievement. The choir uses their talents to share their inspirational story with the world through song and dance. \nThe choir’s repertoire is an exciting mix of traditional South African genres with pop\, rock\, jazz and EDM. Their intention to create a fresh and original sound is evident in their ability to take internationally well-known songs – Toto’s “Africa”\, Kygo’s Higher Love\, U2’s “Beautiful Day” and Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” – and move them into an exciting new territory. \nThe Ndlovu Youth Choir’s incredible run on “America’s Got Talent” (Season 14) made them the first choir in the history of either America’s Got Talent or Britain’s Got Talent to reach the final. Their soul-stirring performances won hearts and minds around the world. After their final AGT performance\, legendary music producer and record executive Simon Cowell labelled the performance ‘The best final I have ever sat on in my life’. He went on to sign the choir and together with SYCO and Sony Music they released their first album\, which debuted at number one on iTunes. \nAs the Ndlovu Youth Choir’s meteoric rise continues\, they strive to push the creative boundaries of song and dance to reach and touch audiences of all ages across the globe. Their high-energy performances have thrilled audiences worldwide and have shared a message of hope\, love and togetherness. \nNdlovu Youth Choir is a Kravis Center PEAK Series presentation\, made possible by a grant from the MLDauray Arts Initiative in honor of Leonard and Sophie Davis. \nTickets for Ndlovu Youth Choir in West Palm Beach are $35 -$85*.

SUMMARY:SOMething Scary - Family Friendly Halloween Party in Delray Beach
DESCRIPTION:This year’s SOMething Scary is bigger and better than ever! Space of Mind is shutting down the block with a live music stage featuring The Resolvers and No Big Deal band\, their 8th annual Haunted House (in Delray’s oldest – and officially haunted – house)\, a parking lot carnival\, costume contest\, trunk or treating\, chef-made treats and more! \nThis year’s theme\, Global Warning!\, will be brought to life by Space of Mind students\, who use their creativity to design and produce the event as part of their first trimester academic project. In addition\, this year’s event will raise funds to launch SOMeTunes\, a student-run record label and arts initiative under the Community Classroom Project\, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on reducing learning-related stress through creativity. \nThis annual event is made possible thanks to sponsors including Subculture Restaurant Group\, DADA\, Meraki Integrative\, The White Family Foundation\, The Delray Beach Historical Society\, Prosperity Brewers and the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Do Good Delray month\, alongside A Little Wyld and Delray Orthodontics—highlighting the power of partnerships between businesses and nonprofits in our community. Our Trunk or Treat features cars curated by Delray Beach Concours. Don’t miss out on the frightful fun! Dress up\, bring your friends\, and prepare for a night of chills and thrills. \nWHERE:\nAt the corner of Space of Mind and DADA\n102 N. Swinton Ave. Delray Beach\, FL 33444 \nWHEN:\nFriday\, October 25\, 2024\n6pm – 11pm\n6:30pm – No Big Deal Band\n9pm – The Resolvers \nTICKETS:\nFree live music\nClick here to purchase wristbands for the haunted house and activities.

SUMMARY:Cinderella and the Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this never-before-told story as it comes to life with the enchanting music of “The Birds” (Gli uccelli) by Italian composer Ottorino Respighi (1879-1936) performed by Palm Beach Symphony and Music Director\, Gerard Schwarz. \nDressed for a royal masquerade ball\, with her identity hidden\, Cinderella plays her flute for the very first time with the palace orchestra\, conducted by the talented prince as they perform for an enthralled audience of guests. At the end of the evening\, afraid of being recognized by her evil stepmother and stepsisters\, Cinderella vanishes hastily\, leaving behind her precious flute. The following morning\, the prince begins his desperate search to find the extraordinary flutist\, who’s elegant playing captivated not only her fellow musicians\, but the guests\, and certainly the prince as well.
