DESCRIPTION:Turtle Walks are a unique program that allows our visitors to learn about and observe the nesting and egg-laying process of loggerhead sea turtles. \nDuration\n\nApproximately 3 Hours\nThere’s no way to know the exact duration of the program from night to night\, although the program is officially scheduled from 9pm – 12am. The length of the program depends on when we spot a loggerhead sea turtle and her behavior. If we do spot one\, it could be at any point in the evening. If no turtle has been spotted by midnight\, the program concludes.\n\nAbout\nWith the approval of state issued permits\, experienced Loggerhead Marinelife Center scouts will patrol our designated section of Juno Beach searching for sea turtles while visitors enjoy an informative presentation on the plight of sea turtles and engage in a variety of hands-on learning experiences. Once a loggerhead sea turtle emerges and begins her egg-laying process\, the group is then led down to the beach to witness this unforgettable experience. \nWhat happens if I don’t see a sea turtle?\nWe cannot guarantee that a loggerhead sea turtle will carry out her nesting process on the evening of your scheduled program. Though we cannot offer refunds\, all ticket sales directly benefit Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s mission and the care of our sea turtle patients. \nWhat are my chances to see a turtle?\nThere is absolutely NO way to predict the successful nesting of a sea turtle on the night of your scheduled walk. Sea turtles never RSVP\, and we have no way of knowing what the likelihood of seeing a sea turtle will be from night to night. Juno Beach\, however\, is one of the densest nesting sites for loggerhead sea turtles in the world. \nHow does the program work?\nNesting is highest for loggerhead sea turtles in June and July. During these months\, we offer turtle walks to the public Tuesday-Saturday under a required permit issued by the state of Florida. Once registered for an evening\, visitors come to the center and receive a presentation\, at which time our scouts are on the beach in search of activity. If the scouts spot a loggerhead sea turtle carrying out her nesting process\, they will radio to bring the group down to watch. \nHow long is the program?\nThere’s no way to know the exact duration of the program from night to night\, although the program is officially scheduled from 9pm – 12am. If no turtle has been spotted by midnight\, the program concludes. \nCan I bring a flashlight?\nSorry\, flashlights are not permitted. \nCan I take pictures?\nWe do not permit photography of any form throughout the program. \nMore Info\n\nChildren must be 10 years or older to attend the walks\, and all participants must be able to walk up to half a mile on the beach.\nDue to our State issued permit requirements\, we can only accommodate a small number of people per night and dates fill up quickly. There is no relationship between sea turtle nesting activity and the phase of the moon\, the weather\, or the tides. All scheduled Turtle Walk nights have the same odds of the group seeing a sea turtle nesting. There are no refunds on tickets if a sea turtle is not spotted.\n\nWhat to Wear\n\nDark clothing is preferred to minimize the impact on nesting sea turtles. Bug spray and comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.\nWhat if it’s raining? We run our program rain or shine and only stay off the beach in the event of lightning. DESCRIPTION:Turtle Walks are a unique program that allows our visitors to learn about and observe the nesting and egg-laying process of loggerhead sea turtles. \nDuration\n\nApproximately 3 Hours\nThere’s no way to know the exact duration of the program from night to night\, although the program is officially scheduled from 9pm – 12am. The length of the program depends on when we spot a loggerhead sea turtle and her behavior. If we do spot one\, it could be at any point in the evening. If no turtle has been spotted by midnight\, the program concludes.\n\nAbout\nWith the approval of state issued permits\, experienced Loggerhead Marinelife Center scouts will patrol our designated section of Juno Beach searching for sea turtles while visitors enjoy an informative presentation on the plight of sea turtles and engage in a variety of hands-on learning experiences. Once a loggerhead sea turtle emerges and begins her egg-laying process\, the group is then led down to the beach to witness this unforgettable experience. \nWhat happens if I don’t see a sea turtle?\nWe cannot guarantee that a loggerhead sea turtle will carry out her nesting process on the evening of your scheduled program. Though we cannot offer refunds\, all ticket sales directly benefit Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s mission and the care of our sea turtle patients. \nWhat are my chances to see a turtle?\nThere is absolutely NO way to predict the successful nesting of a sea turtle on the night of your scheduled walk. Sea turtles never RSVP\, and we have no way of knowing what the likelihood of seeing a sea turtle will be from night to night. Juno Beach\, however\, is one of the densest nesting sites for loggerhead sea turtles in the world. \nHow does the program work?\nNesting is highest for loggerhead sea turtles in June and July. DESCRIPTION:All ages and fitness levels are invited to lace up their sneakers to enjoy a one-of-a-kind 5K run/walk as Junior League of the Palm Beaches hosts its 2nd annual “Sprint into Spring Training\,” featuring the rare chance to traverse the fields of two Major League Baseball (MLB) teams: the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals\, which both hold their spring training at CACTI Park. Held Saturday\, February 1\, 2025\, this 5K is the only opportunity to run through all of the fields at the expansive complex\, formerly The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. \nThe 5K is open to runners and walkers\, including those who’d like to run with strollers. Children will especially enjoy the kids’ 100-yard dash race\, which concludes with a thrilling sprint to home plate. \nAdding to this home run of an experience\, the top overall winners for men and women will earn the extraordinary opportunity to throw out a first pitch at an MLB Spring Training game. \nSprint into Spring Training supports the nonprofit’s community service focused around literacy\, healthcare\, children’s services and overall work to make a lasting positive impact in the community\, while providing leadership development and training for members. The nearly 85-yearold organization is completely volunteer led. \nThe 5K begins at 8 a.m. and the kids dash at 9 a.m. The awards ceremony is at 10 am. Race day packet pickup as well as any same-day registration runs from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. Sponsorship opportunities are available. The 5K\, in person or virtual\, is $40\, and the Little Leagues 100-yard dash is $25; rates increase after January 13. DESCRIPTION:We are proud to host Sensory Saturdays on the 1st Saturday of each month. The Cox Science Center and Aquarium is open for special exploration hours from 9am-10am\, specifically designed for families affected by autism spectrum disorder\, sensory processing or cognitive challenges\, or other guests requiring assistance for disabilities. \nExperience our exhibits without heavy crowds before we open to the public at 10am with softened general lighting\, decreased noise level and limited visual stimulation on interactive exhibits wherever possible.
