SUMMARY:"Anatomy Under the Sea" Book Launch Celebration
DESCRIPTION:At 9 years old\, Emiliana Fuger has transformed a science fair frustration into a full-fledged children’s book and she’s celebrating her book launch at one of South Florida’s most iconic marine education centers. \nEmiliana\, a Wellington native\, will host a public book launch for “Anatomy Under the Sea: The Adventures of Luna the Loggerhead” at Loggerhead MarineLife Center in Juno Beach on Friday\, March 7\, 2026\, at 10:00 a.m. Families and community members are invited to attend this inspiring event\, which will include a live reading\, book signing\, and interactive learning opportunities about sea turtles and marine conservation. \nThe journey began in 2024\, when Emiliana was working on her Wavemakers science project. She wanted to create a model showing the internal anatomy of a sea turtle\, but quickly realized there weren’t any children’s books that explained how sea turtles functioned on the inside. “When I couldn’t find a book that showed the inside of a sea turtle\,” Emiliana said\, “I decided to write one myself so kids could understand it more easily.” \nTo ensure accuracy\, Emiliana interviewed local marine scientists and and studied how sea turtles compare anatomically to other sea animals found in South Florida waters. She also partnered with professional illustrator Jess Burbank to bring the science to life with vibrant\, kid-friendly visuals. The result is a book that blends storytelling with real marine biology\, introducing young readers to anatomy\, conservation\, and scientific curiosity through the adventures of Luna the Loggerhead. \nHer work has already earned impressive recognition: Emiliana won the 2025 Wavemakers Competition\, received praise from renowned oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle\, and was named a 2025 Go Blue Award Nominee. Beyond the book\, Emiliana continues to inspire other kids through “Turtle Talks” at local schools and nonprofit organizations. \nThe March 7 event is more than a book launch – it’s a celebration of curiosity\, perseverance\, and marine education. Attendees can expect to:\n– Enjoy a live reading and discussion with Emiliana\n– Participate in book signings\n– Explore sea turtle and marine conservation activities at Loggerhead MarineLife Center \nWe hope to see you there!
