Together\, we’ll walk the trail\, observe plants and animals with our magnifying glasses & binoculars\, and explore nature. \nAdults and children should come prepared to be outside for an hour. DESCRIPTION:Join the River Center for our Bloomin’ in the Garden program\, designed for children ages 3-6. This month’s theme is One\, Two\, TREE! \nThe program will start at 10:00am with story time and a nature-themed craft. We will then move to our garden for exploration and hands-on fun. When it’s time to go home\, children will receive seed to take home to start their own garden! So don’t miss this exciting chance for you and your little ones to enjoy nature together! \nLimited to 15 children (+ their accompanying adults). \nThis activity is outside\, so dress comfortably and be ready to possibly get a little messy. \nAll equipment will be provided and this program is free of charge. DESCRIPTION:May 4th – Eerie Erosion & Living Shorelines\nJoin our Scientist Sam for different science activities! \nAges 13-17 \nThis lesson will focus on the eerie effects of erosion to our shores and coastlines and discuss ways to mitigate erosion damage. The class will be looking as sites where erosion is a big issue and areas where living shorelines were installed to reduce erosion damage. Students will take part in erosion demos\, pot mangroves\, and take home an erosion experiment. This is an off-site program. Closed-toe shoes and water bottle are required. \nThere is no cost for this program but please RSVP to attend.
