DESCRIPTION:The Norton Museum of Art invites guests to celebrate summer with a day of play. \nThe Norton will host its annual Games Around the World Community Day from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday\, July 20. Admission and parking are free. \nGuests can test their skills at chess\, pétanque and other games.\nOther main events include an Around the World theme in two 30-minute Spotlight Tours of art and an opportunity to create art in Open Studio. \nThe South Florida Pétanque Club and the Palm Beach Chess Club will offer sessions on the basics and the finer points of the games and there will be a martial arts performance by Capoeira Karkara Cultural Arts Center of Boynton Beach. \n“Games Around the World is a chance for our community to connect and experience traditions and cultures from all over the world\,” said Ghislain d’Humières\, the Norton’s Kenneth C. Griffin Director and CEO. \nIn addition to pétanque and chess\, guests also can play Giant Garden Games\, with large-scale versions of Connect Four and Jenga\, play an outdoor xylophone\, and play Loteria\, the classic Hispanic game of chance\, to win prizes. \nA series of short films\, plus gallery explorations round out the day. \n“The activities the Museum has planned for the day offer opportunities to engage people of all ages and interests\,” said Derek Sober\, Director of Family and Community Programs at the Norton. “The best part: It’s free!” \nFor a complete schedule\, visit www.norton.org or call 561-832-5196.

DESCRIPTION:Beat the summer heat and get in the water with your little one! \nJoin us once a month throughout the summer at the Nature Conservancy’s Blowing Rocks Preserve (574 S Beach Rd\, Hobe Sound\, FL 33455). We will meet outside the visitors’ center on the lagoon side (west side). The River Center will provide dip nets and sand toys. We’ll search for urchins\, conchs\, and crabs while enjoying the natural beauty around us. \nThis event is for ages 2 thru 6. Adults and children should come prepared to be in the water for an hour. This includes closed toe water shoes\, sunscreen\, hats\, and water bottles. Adults will be responsible for their children during this program. \nLimited to 20 children (+ their accompanying adults). Siblings of all ages are welcome\, just include them in your registration! This program is free of charge. \nPlease RSVP to attend \nLittle Otters
