It’s the perfect place for both the young and the young at heart to unplug\, reconnect with nature\, and share time together outdoors. \n\n+ Treasure Trek Map – A colorful rhyming guide to all the unique pleasures and secret treasures that can be found on a fun and informative scavenger hunt through Mounts Botanical Garden. \n\n+ The Giant Green Maze – A living puzzle grows right in the center of the Garden! Pruned to resemble a European castle from the outside\, the maze is an awesome area of very tall greenery\, secret paths\, and horticultural alcoves tailor made for a lively imagination. \n\n+ Giant Animal Statuary Family – Life-sized animals crafted from recycled metal located throughout the Garden\, including three giraffes\, two elephants\, and both a hippo and a lion. \n\n+ Towering Moai – Three massive sculptures\, impressive life-size replicas of the iconic monolithic human figures located on Easter Island\, Chile. (You may recall the young rabbit named E.B. in the popular animated movie Hop which was set on Easter Island!) Discover the inspiring story of the Easter Island Moai and the Rapa Nui Culture\, and the importance of preserving and protecting both historical treasures and environmental resources. \n\n+ Mounts Butterfly Garden – Home to a collection of colorful plants that provide crucial resources for all stages of a butterfly’s life cycle. The year-round flowers provide nectar for adult butterflies\, and the plants provide flowers and leaves for the caterpillars to eat. Monarch\, Atala\, Zebra Longwing\, and Cloudless Sulphur are among the species of beautiful butterflies that can be spotted gliding from plant to plant. \n  \n+ Feeding Fish in Lake Orth – This centerpiece in the Garden contains many species of colorful fish\, turtles\, and birds\, but the collection of koi steal the show and visitors of all ages relish in the opportunity to feed these beautifully colored fish. The first three koi fish introduced to Lake Orth (Speedy\, Buttercup\, and Sunshine) are still swimming around along with more than 70 additional koi enjoying fish food from visitors. \n\n+ Sensory Backpacks – Available to assist visitors with sensory sensitivities. Designed to help families feel more prepared and confident to engage during their visit to the Garden\, and adjust to new faces\, new activities\, bright lights\, a range of noise levels\, and so many other sensory experiences. Follow an all-female cast of shark conservation superwomen Jess Cramp\, Liv Rose and Cristina Zenato as they dive into the kingdom of sharks\, get up-close and personal with these awe-inspiring creatures and uncover their secrets to fight for the future of our shared oceans. From great whites hunting in the wild and windswept seas of New Zealand\, whaler sharks learning to coexist with Australian fishermen\, to elusive oceanic white tip “shipwreck sharks” traversing uncharted depths of the Pacific\, each shark species wields unique survival powers in their distinct environments. \nShark Kingdom is an epic family adventure\, revealing how the ocean’s top predator uses hidden super senses to be a key player in the marine ecosystem. The movie grew from a childhood fascination with sharks from filmmaker\, biologist and diver Matt Tomaszewski\, who spent years filming sharks. \nTomaszewski and the crew traversed the world in search of some of the highest concentrations of sharks: the Maldives\, Tahiti\, the Cook Islands; Lord Howe Island\, the Australian version of Galapagos Islands; even a tiny island deep in the Southern Ocean\, home to great whites. By virtue of having healthy shark populations\, these places are also quite untouched and incredibly photogenic for the giant screen. \nCarrying hundreds of kilos of giant screen filming equipment off the grid is no vacation\, however. Underwater filming is a complex puzzle of weather\, ocean currents and the sharks themselves.
