This Page-turners middle school book club session focuses on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic novel The Secret Garden in a book discussion held in the Museum’s Ohnell Sculpture Garden. Surrounded by greenery and outdoor artworks, the conversation looks at how Mary Lennox’s story connects nature, grief, friendship, and healing.

The setting echoes the novel’s hidden garden and invites you to think about how real outdoor spaces shape mood and memory. Participants are encouraged to read the book in advance, but you are welcome to join the conversation even if you haven’t.
