Name: Brie Mazin
Where did you grow up: I was born in Chicago and at age 4, my family moved to Coral Springs, FL where I grew up.
Town you live in now: I live in Boynton Beach, FL.
Why you love living there: I love living here because of our amazing community. We have A rated schools, tons of wonderful extracurricular activities and lovely friendly families.
Tell me about your kids: Our girls (ages 8 and 6) are great lovers of Tik Tok, music, art and acrobatics. Our son (age 3) is a lover of garbage men (he brings them drinks and gives them elbow bumps every Friday) and just received his first baseball, bat and glove. Time will tell if he’s as big of a fan as in his genetic makeup.
Favorite things to do with the kids locally: We love taking advantage of our amazing parks & playgrounds, and South Florida attractions including, The Rapids, Lion Country Safari & Butterfly World. We also love taking family staycations.
What’s your ‘day job’? How did you get started with it? In 2008 I went to Israel and had a profound experience where I quit my job in Public Relations and I founded YOUnited TV (where I do interviews supporting and promoting people who are passionate about their work). Shortly after, I took my first yoga class where I fell in love. I have been teaching yoga for over a decade. Having always been a sharer of any and all good things (products, people and activities) I began the blog floridayogamama.com as a way of reaching more people in positive ways about positive things. I am extremely fortunate to be “working” by doing so much of what I love.
What is your best parenting advice. Lay it on us.
After unexpectedly losing my dad 4 years ago,it woke me to keep my focus on the big things and not sweat the small stuff (because it’s all small stuff). My best parenting advice is to let kids be kids while setting guideline boundaries.
What do you do for self care? For self care, I treat myself to yoga classes, I love a good massage and a little Botox here and there lol
Karaoke – what are you singing?
Alanis Morissette Ironic. It was the first concert I ever went to 🙂 and I performed it on my honeymoon cruise and crushed it. Brings me back to my Thespian high school days.
Anything else you want to share? My personal philosophy is that the more we focus on something, the more it expands. So be mindful of what you focus on 🙂
