Name: Ariel Bachman
Where did you grow up: Longmeadow, MA
Town you live in now: Tequesta
Why you love living there: Tequesta reminds me of the New Englad where I grew up. It’s very quaint and has such a small town feel. I love everything about it from our neighbors, restaurants, (EVO Italian is our favorite) food trucks. We even have the BEST town officials, police and fire departments. We feel so blessed to be part of this sweet community.
Tell me about your kids: We are a running circus! I have three little ones. My youngest little lady is 1 and my oldest is 8 and I have a 3-year-old boy sandwiched in the middle! They are all SO different! I love seeing their personalities shine, how they’re alike and different from my husband and I and most of all their sense of humor. My son loves jokes and picks up on them right away! He definitely did NOT get that from me.
Favorite things to do with the kids locally: The first Friday of the month you will (almost) always find us at the Tequesta Food Truck Invasion. We even made it there the same week we had our third child! She was just 3 days old at the time! We also have a small piece of land on the Loxahatchee River in our neighborhood that we ride bikes to almost nightly and go fishing or play with our neighbors and their kids. On the weekends, we’re avid green market and beach goers!
What’s your ‘day job’? How did you get started with it? I am the director of media for Pantelides PR & Consulting. I am a former TV news producer turned PR maven. Instead of producing your local 6pm broadcast, I’m now securing appearances for our clients on that same nightly news. I pitch stories I wish Public Relations reps would have pitched to me and my knowledge of the industry gives me the ability to reverse engineer it like no one else. About a year ago, I took a leap of faith, turned down my next contract offer, left the TV news biz to spend more time with my family and I couldn’t be happier!
What is your best parenting advise. Lay it on us.
Follow your heart or gut. We moms have a special intuition when it comes to our children. Afterall, they did grow inside us for 9-months. Build your tribe, lean on them but at the end of the day follow your heart and you’ll never go wrong! I also live by Conscious Discipline and it’s changed my life!
What do you do for self care?
I am a sucker for anything girlie, decadent and indulgent. My favorite thing to do for me is hot yoga, run at the beach, ride bikes. We also recently changed our nighttime prayer routine because of a post about another mama on THIS blog. Every night, my two oldest kids and I (sometimes hubs) pray together about the good, bad and ugly. My kids LOVE hearing me ask God to help them with things they’re struggling with and they LOVE hearing me talk about little happy or proud moments. So, thank you to that mama and this blog ❤️
